Functional Analyst
Torch Technologies is seeking a senior-level Army Fires subject matter expert to support science & technology prototyping of distributed multi-domain engagement control capabilities. This expert will be part of a future combat research team and will be responsible for developing concepts to guide software prototyping of notional weapon systems operating in virtual environments. Critical and creative thinking, innovative problem solving, and ability to work on teams of mixed technical, operational, and programmatic skills.
The ideal candidate will have 25+ years' of broad-based experience with field artillery operations including direct experience with long-range precision fires systems and concepts. 15 years of SME experience with progressively complex organizational challenges including 10 years of leadership roles is required. Candidate will have demonstrated ability to define common goals and achieve consensus in team environments with many competing interests. Candidate should have first-hand experience in program management, policy development, and defense support at multiple levels of complexity to provide comprehensive concept guidance. The candidate will be required to develop mission scenarios and vignettes to explore the capabilities and limitations of future weapon designs and corresponding engagement control concepts. Candidate needs to be skilled in areas of cross domain solutions and broader DOD reforms to advise Torch program leadership on integration strategies and approaches to align Torch's recommended technical solutions, model-driven prototyping, integration and demonstrations with Army Future's Command and PEO Missile and Space (M&S) priorities and initiatives.
The candidate will be responsible for contributing to functional concepts to adapt emerging Fire Support Coordination and Control (FSC2) systems to incorporate engagement control functions needed to support future maneuver formations. The candidate needs to be a proficient writer and will be expected to lead and coordinate the preparation of briefings and concepts for use by senior Army leadership. A proven track record of multi-organization collaboration, risk management, stakeholder relationships, and team building is highly desired.
MS in Engineering, Business Administration and Management, or acquisition related field of expertise from an accredited college is required. A minimum of 15-20years
of SME experience with progressively complex experience including 10 years of leadership roles. Position also requires that candidate meet the requirements to obtain a final security clearance in order to access classified information. Inability to obtain a security clearance will result in candidate being ineligible for this position.
