JOB DESCRIPTION:
General Merchandise Clerk will order and stock all merchandise for regular and ad
sales, review and adjust vendor invoices, build promotional displays which may
require lifting up to 50 lbs, and monitor shelf and back-room inventory levels.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Maintain high housekeeping standards (facing, dusting and cleaning shelves).
• Maintain store sets to schematics.
• Order product according to store specific Cycle Ordering System.
• Maintain close inventory controls.
• Plan and coordinate seasonal and theme promotions.
• Maintain T.P.R. program.
• Maintain orbit tags.
• Reconcile invoices with products shipped. Call in shorts and mis-picks
according to procedure.
• Maintain sign programs (new items, T.P.R.’s, compare and save)
• Coordinate video sell-through Shipper Display Program with Video Manager.
BASIC FUNCTIONS
• Review weekly ad two weeks in advance and order enough product to cover
advertised items.
• Ensure discontinued items are T.P.R. priced to expedite closeouts.
• Communicate any problems, concerns, etc. to your Store Manager and/or G.M.
Supervisor.
• Perform a competitive price check of 100 top items with designated competitor
on a quarterly basis.
