Reports to: Plant Manager

Schedule: 2nd shift M-W 4:00pm –2:30am and Thursday & Friday 3:30pm –1:30am and Saturday 12pm to 5

Job Summary:

Alloy Engineering is hiring a Production Supervisor for 2nd shift, who will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of the welding and press brake departments. This role ensures efficient production operations, maintains high-quality standards, and fosters a safe and collaborative work environment. #ZR

Supervision and Leadership:

Lead, mentor/train, and supervise a team of welders and press brake operators.
Monitor, audit, and enforce all safety training and policies.
Plan, assign, and direct work to ensure production schedules are met.
Review and post daily labor transactions.
Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
Address and resolve employee concerns and conflicts.

Production Oversight:

Monitor daily production activities to ensure quality and efficiency.
Ensure all welding operations (GMAW, GTAW, PAW and SAW) meet quality requirements.
Work with dayshift press brake supervisor to ensure forming processes meet company standards.
Coordinate with the Production Manager to align resources and priorities.
Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as productivity, quality, and safety.

Quality Assurance:

Ensure all work meets or exceeds ASME and AWS standards.
Oversee and train for advanced blueprint reading and welding symbol interpretation.
Conduct regular quality checks and ensure all projects are completed within quoted estimates.
Record all nonconformance's (NCR’s) and define, record, and implement corrective actions.

Safety and Compliance:

Promote a safe working environment by enforcing safety regulations.
Conduct and monitor regular safety training.
Ensure all employees adhere to safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE).
Report and investigate accidents or incidents promptly.

Continuous Improvement:

Work with Production Manager to identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and quality.
Foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the team.
Encourage team members to pursue additional training and certifications.

Requirements

Strong leadership and supervisory skills with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.
In-depth knowledge of welding operations (GMAW and GTAW). Experience with SAW and or PAW is a plus.
Experience with press brake, plate rolls and forming machinery is a plus.
Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel is a plus.
Basic experience with ERP systems.
Proficient in advanced blueprint reading and welding symbol interpretation.
Ability to manage time effectively and meet production deadlines.
Excellent communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills.

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in welding or related field preferred.
A minimum of 10 years of experience in welding and press brake operations.
At least 5 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
Certification in welding (ASME/AWS) is a plus.

Work Environment:

The position requires working in a manufacturing setting with exposure to noise, heat, and varying temperatures.
Position requires physical capability which includes standing most of the time, lifting-up to 50 pounds, and pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, reaching as needed.
Standard shift is ten hours per day, with steel-toe boots and safety glasses required.
Plant facilities does not have air conditioning.
