Job Overview: The Thermal Arc Spray Welding position is broken down into 3 stations. Each Associate is required to be trained at each station to allow daily job rotation within the area.
1.Station one is the Prep station. Associates will use basic tools and rotating machinery to spin camshafts while taping and painting on masking compound where welding over spray is not desired. This station also requires the use of a blaster to prep areas for the welding process.
2. Station two is where the actual welding occurs. Associates will place the prepped cam in a specially made lathe that will spin the cam at a high rate of speed while the weld is applied evenly. It is crucial that these Associates follow all safety and quality requirements to meet our customers’ expectations.
3. At the station three cams will be installed into a lathe where oil grooves will be recut into the cam. You will be required to use precision measuring devices and some intermediate math skills to find the correct location of the oil grooves.
Schedule:
- Monday - Friday 6:30am-3:00pm
- Overtime available
Qualifications:
- The ability to lift, bend, push, pull and move materials up to 50lbs.
- The ability to stand or walk an entire shift (can be approx... 8-10 hours)
- The ability to use handheld tools such as Hammers, Chisels, Paint Brushes, Calipers, Etc.
- Standing: Continuously
- Walking: Continuously
- Sitting: Occasionally
- Stooping (forward leaning): Occasionally.
- Reaching/Working Overhead: Occasionally
Skills and expectations / No experience required.
- Self-Starter and able to work independently.
- Able to closely follow instructions.
- Detailed oriented.
- Precision measuring tools
- Lathe operations
- Supplied air respirator.
- Standing and some light lifting
