Brewer Science, Inc. is a major innovator of high-technology solutions for the semiconductor / microelectronics markets. We are currently seeking a purpose-driven candidate with an ownership mentality to fill an open position as an Executive Director, Semiconductor Materials Business Unit. This position will be located remotely within the United States, but is preferred to be in Missouri.
Summary:
The Executive Director is responsible for defining and executing the high revenue growth and diversification strategies for the semiconductor materials business unit, which includes, but is not limited to, lithography, packaging, and other ancillary chemicals and materials product portfolio. This position plays a critical role in defining product roadmaps and is accountable for satisfying customer expectations. This position is also responsible for creating, enabling, and supporting strategic partnerships, business development, product value pricing, and product management for the business unit. In addition, this position will review, analyze, and evaluate business operations (i.e., R&D, product development, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, purchasing, sales, finance) and implement policies, procedures and best business practices to achieve our corporate initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a core member of the Executive Director team.
- Provide strategic direction and inspirational leadership to the business development, product management, business operations, and strategic partnership teams.
- Be a key voice in defining product roadmaps and help set priorities for product development.
- Collaborate closely with other internal teams to guide the direction of business unit platform/product portfolios and accomplish related strategic objectives.
- Develop new product revenue growth, creating new uses for existing products, and establishing coordinated business development strategies where appropriate.
- Drive business unit to be self-sustaining from product revenue to support the cash flow needed for improvements in capacity and capabilities of the unit.
- Target specific business and technological partnerships to achieve the overall business outcomes, including identifying new partners, and/or organization targets and gaining expertise on their organization, business model, product, customers, and strategic priorities.
- Analyze key metrics for business operations to ensure efficient and timely completion of tasks.
- Monitor and report on business unit financial performance against budget and target.
- Develop and implement specific five-year plan that sets measurable goals and objectives and identifies the strategies for achievement
- Establish and maintain a healthy balance between short-term business opportunities and long –term opportunities.
- Use experience and expertise in contract negotiation for the benefit of the company.
- Represent the company at customers, suppliers, and industry forums.
- Focus on and provide company leadership, along with the other executive directors, in the planning, development, and execution of organizational strategy globally, and help to set a clear direction for the company.
- Develop and implement the company’s short-term and long-term business plan, along with the other Executive Directors and Corporate Leadership Team, to accomplish key corporate objectives.
- Formulate and administer policies and procedures that have a company-wide impact and/or significant impact on company performance.
- Forecast and submit budget requirements and monitor and report on financial performance against budget.
- Manage employee success by setting clear expectations, providing continuous feedback, supporting professional development, and creating an environment of psychological safety and intentional inclusion.
- Direct, supervise, and coordinate employees and facilities to accomplish the functions and goals of the business unit; plan the use of materials and resources for efficient accomplishment of business unit functions.
- Act as a “connector leader” to ensure the organization’s strategies are connected and not conflicting strategies; this includes the cross functional coordination of company priorities and strategic alignment of resources, including talent.
- Collaborate with other Leadership Team members to position organization as a global market leader. Analyze competitive opportunities and threats, along with the organization’s strengths and weaknesses, and determine effective strategies for competitive positioning.
Education & Credentials:
- Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering and
- 12+ years of increased responsibilities in sales, R&D, product or business development and
- 10+ years progressive leadership experience or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Education & Credentials:
- PhD in science or engineering and/or MBA degree

Compensation
Base pay for this role is between $186,359 and $242,267 annually. Base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location.
