The Business Systems & Analytics Manager will lead the design, development, and implementation of value-creating Information Technology (IT) initiatives. The individual in this role will be responsible for IT strategy, IT infrastructure and operations, ERP / business systems, leadership planning, and team development.

The Business Systems & Analytics Manager will participate in monthly meetings with technology leaders across the Granite Companies and actively engage in bi-monthly meetings with the NetSuite Leadership Group.

The Position
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CF), the Business Systems & Analytics Manager provides vision and leadership across Rotochopper for designing, developing, and implementing IT initiatives that create customer and business value. Prioritizing and partnering on NetSuite-related matters and enhancing the user experience will be critical to success. The individual in this role will enable teams across the company’s business functions with business intelligence, analytics, reporting, and visualization tools using NetSuite’s SuiteAnalytics capabilities and workbooks and Domo’s business intelligence platforms.
This is an opportunity to be instrumental in a multi-year digital strategy and transformation initiative that is underway across Rotochopper. The Business Systems & Analytics Manager will also collaborate with other leaders throughout Granite Partners and the Granite Companies as a member of the Technology Affinity and the NetSuite Leadership Group.
Key responsibilities are summarized below.
IT Strategy
- Lead the IT function across Rotochopper including the leadership of developing common processes, practices, and cybersecurity procedures across the company.
- Be a stakeholder in developing the company strategic plan, translating Rotochopper’s vision into supporting and enabling IT systems and procedures.
- Develop the organizational structure, capability, and IT strategic plan consistent with the current and future business needs of the company.
- Lead, develop, and implement IT initiatives that enable Rotochopper to compete and be profitable in a constantly changing and demanding industry.
- Communicate the IT vision, roadmap, project process, strategic plan, service deliverables and metrics to key stakeholders, including the executive team, IT staff, and team members.
- Develop plans and budgets to support the IT pipeline of projects and initiatives.
- Optimize return on investment on IT investments by acquiring cost-justified IT components as measured by performance, support availability, price, upgradeability, and future industry trends.
- Develop a governance process right-sized for our business to prioritize and allocate resources and monitor the appropriate application of technology and process to the business to achieve the required return.
- Engage monthly with the technology leaders of the Granite Companies in high impact Technology Affinity meetings to share blueprints, practices, resources, training, progress, plans, and support.
ERP/Business Systems
- Translate business needs into system solutions to maximize the use of available tools adhering to enterprise architecture but ensuring longer term support and compatibility.
- Ensure availability of necessary application systems to support business needs.
- Ensure IT infrastructure and applications are successfully accessed and utilized to achieve continuous improvement and competitive advantage by identifying needs and developing and providing appropriate training and support for users.
- Collaborate and support departments in conceptualizing, developing, and launching technology-based products and services.
- Provide tools based on enterprise and department needs, including analytics, reporting, and metrics.
Business Analytics
- Lead the development and execution of advanced analytics strategies that drive critical business decisions, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and delivering measurable business value.
- Oversee the extraction, analysis, and interpretation of complex data sets to generate actionable insights, producing sophisticated reports that inform high-level business strategy.
- Champion the adoption of predictive and prescriptive analytics to forecast trends, identify opportunities, and mitigate risks, empowering the organization to make proactive, data-informed decisions.
- Drive the identification of key business challenges through rigorous data analysis and lead the implementation of innovative solutions that optimize business processes and outcomes.
- Lead the creation of compelling data visualizations and narratives that simplify complex data for non-technical stakeholders, ensuring insights are easily understood and actionable.
Leadership Development & Team Planning
- Coach, train, manage, motivate, and develop the IT team, while actively engaging in sourcing future talent.
- Serve as a trusted partner of customers, championing cross-functional collaboration within and outside the IT group.
- Oversee the analysis and evaluation of staffing requirements to fulfill business requirements to include directing the evaluation of make versus buy decisions as they relate to outsourcing versus in-house provisioning.
IT Infrastructure & Operations
- Influence and lead the development of Rotochopper’s infrastructure and applications to ensure business strategies and processes are supported by systems that meet the current and future needs of the company and enable growth and flexibility.
- Ensure IT infrastructure is strategically sound, reflecting business needs and best practices in creating value for the company and its customers.
- Develop IT policies, procedures, and methods to ensure consistency in service levels, set standards, and leverage enterprise-level systems.
- Lead and coordinate selection, installation, operation, support, and maintenance of Rotochopper’s IT infrastructure (i.e., application tools, operating systems, telecommunications, ERP, network, hardware, and peripherals).
- Establish and measure IT performance relative to cost, value creation, and customer satisfaction in key areas of operating systems, telecommunications, application development and ERP, network management, and desktop support.
- Protect Rotochopper and its operations against IT risks, including unauthorized access to information, data integrity issues, loss of processing capability, and lower service levels.
Candidate Profile
This key leadership position requires 7 or more years of IT experience in a manufacturing environment with an understanding of ERP systems. The successful candidate will likely be technically oriented and inclined to maximize his/her contribution to the company. An undergraduate degree is required; an advanced degree is desired.
The successful candidate will possess a willingness to “roll up the sleeves” to accomplish business objectives and be confident and assertive and have a positive attitude. The ability to work effectively in a changing, growing environment with multiple tasks is a must. The candidate must be action-oriented, well organized, and capable of influencing others to affect successful outcomes. An aptitude for accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently is critical.
This individual must have the ability to create consultative business partnerships and serve as a key advisor to the senior leadership team. Experience establishing and implementing IT best practices and raising the overall level of sophistication of the function is required along with knowledge of Microsoft Office (Office 365), NetSuite, Domo, Box, and other tools.
