In anticipation of project funding (which is expected in March 2025), Torch Technologies, a 100% Employee-owned company, is seeking qualified electronics engineer professionals to support hardware design and integration work for the Combat Capabilities Development Command (CCDC) Ground Vehicle Systems Center (GVSC) at Detroit Arsenal, MI. Initial tasking will be supporting multiple ground vehicle programs in a GVSC System Integration Lab (SIL) integrating operational hardware, software platforms and sub-systems into a larger test environment to support product development, assessment, and integration into the Army Ground Vehicle Enterprise. A well-suited applicant will be a self-motivated individual capable of working independently and within a multi-disciplinary team with contractors and government employees. They must also possess good oral and written communication skills. Candidate will sit on site with the customer at GVSC.
Job duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Responsibility for electrical hardware development which will allow the vehicle program to complete multiple hardware | software testing efforts and requirements
- Ensuring hardware team compliance with product and lab best practices
- Hardware/Software Integration
- Debugging issues with existing code bases
- Responsibility for electrical hardware system development, assembly and integration efforts within multiple vehicle system applications.
- Additionally, must support all travel as needed based on mission requirements.
Qualified candidates will have direct experience with the following:
- Experience with Electronic Control Systems
- Broad Experience with Electronics and Digital Communication Buses (e.g. RS422, MIL-STD-1553, CAN, Ethernet, etc.)
- Experience with Electrical/Electronics laboratory equipment and environment
- Product development experience and knowledge
- VHDL and/or Xilinx FPGA experience is a plus
Qualified candidates will have an interest or experience in one of the following areas:
- Working with team-based Hardware and Software Development and Configuration Management Tools
- Hardware and Software Integration
- Hardware interface testing
- Oversight of the hardware design process
- Experience Designing Embedded Systems/Software including PCB and firmware
- Re-engineering, T&E, or related experience with DoD Ground and weapon platforms is a plus
Education and Experience Requirements:
- B.S. or greater in Electrical Engineering or other technical discipline is required. Relevant graduate degrees will be given preference.
- Previous experience as an Electronics Lead will be given preference
- Previous experience in a Software-in the-Loop or Hardware-in-the-loop lab will be given preference
- Previous experience with Ground Vehicle Platform is preferred, but not required

- This position requires the candidate meet requirements to obtain a final secret security clearance to access classified information. Inability to obtain a secret clearance will result in candidate being ineligible for this position.
