Overview
Symbria Rx Services is seeking a Production Workflow Supervisor to add to our growing team at our Pharmacy located in Meadville, PA!
The primary purpose of this position is to supervise the pharmacy technicians assigned to work in the production (floor and toting) departments of the pharmacy. The Production Workflow Supervisor is responsible for developing a superior workforce, assigning workflow based on the needs of the department, ensuring compliance with timely delivery schedules and assisting the Director of Pharmacy in maintaining all pharmacy operations in accordance with the departmental standards and government laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Oversee, workflow processes, provides work direction and coordinates the activities of Production (floor and toting) pharmacy technicians to include appropriate scheduling of staff to meet customer service, operational, performance and quality assurance objectives.

- Maintain employee work schedules including assignments, job rotation, training, vacations and paid time off, telecommuting, cover for absenteeism, and overtime scheduling.
- Communicate service, performance and quality assurance expectations and works with Director of Pharmacy to set goals with staff that are consistent with department and company goals and objectives.
- Provide daily leadership of department including adherence to Symbria Rx Services policies and procedures assuring compliance with all regulatory rules and regulations.
- Oversee the training program of all new production pharmacy technicians ensuring they receive appropriate instruction and guidance. Identify additional department training needs and evaluate training alternatives.
- Track quality measures in regards to production including accurate dispensing, timely deliveries, and productivity standards.
- Organize and direct department meetings.
- Communicate routinely and work collaboratively with Director of Pharmacy and other department supervisors to assure efficient and effective pharmacy operations.
- Works collaboratively with Director of Pharmacy to further develop supervisory skills.
- Works collaboratively with the purchasing department to maintain appropriate inventory levels of medication and supplies.
- Maintain and manage ample inventory of dispensing consumables such as prescription labels, vials, and punch card supplies.
- Assist with on-boarding of new communities, including conducting on-site in-services for community staff.
- Develop and implement department policies & procedures to improve productivity & workflow.
- Manage telepharmacy staff at licensed locations to ensure customers, order entry, filling and processing of prescriptions, and customer education on telepharmacy technologies comply with company standards and regulatory compliance.
- Perform the principle functions and responsibilities of the specific job description of the department being supervised (attach hereto), as needed.

Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, the ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily is necessary and the qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:
- Pharmacy Technician license as per state requirement, certified as Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).
- Pharmacy experience; minimum three to five years.
- Managerial experience; minimum one to three years.
- Understanding and knowledge of calculations regarding compounds, abbreviations, brand and generic comparisons for interpreting prescriptions and for filling.
- Demonstrated leadership skills including ability to develop and assist team members.
- Ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment and make independent decisions.
- Advanced problem solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments to resolve complex issues with innovative solutions.
- General computer knowledge including Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Excellent customer service, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of business English, spelling and commercial arithmetic.
- Must be able to work and lead in a flexible schedule as operational needs dictate, including, when necessary, nights and weekends, holidays, covering open shifts, or taking off-site phone calls to assist with emergent needs of the department.
