Summary
Acts as the technical lead for research and development projects. Creates new materials and processes to meet industry challenges, and refines these down to well characterized product offerings.
Responsibilities
Serves as the technical lead for research and development projects, driving multiple projects and multiple pathways
Serves as project lead, with minimal supervision to drive project management tasks including planning, meeting project deadlines, and may manage others
Serves as technical adviser/mentor who provides problem solving and guidance to other team members
Guide subordinates to complete tasks
Presents to customers and at industry forums
Documents work and initiates the submission of new intellectual property, and provides help with IP maintenance
Keeps up to date on current industry needs and identify new approaches to meet the needs
Provides help with experiment design and methods for in-depth data analysis.
Acts as a mentor for laboratory practices
Helps set safety and housekeeping standards and monitors how they are practiced in daily activities
Keeps up-to-date on best laboratory notebook practices and helps to improve and implement the process
Education & Credentials
Master’s Degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, or related area plus minimum 6 years of related experience or
PhD Chemistry, Polymer Science, or related area preferred plus minimum 2 years of related experience or
Experience in research and development
Equivalent combination of education and related experience.
