Seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to provide technical support to the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Engineering Directorate Modeling & Simulation (M&S) office (DES) team supporting Objective Simulation Framework (OSF). The role involves utilizing the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process to ensure compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) security requirements.
Responsibilities:
Utilize RMF processes to analyze and resolve Information Assurance (IA) issues.
Monitor, audit, and measure risk, compliance, and assurance efforts.
Ensure security measures conform to DoD requirements at software, system, and network levels.
Document security risks and verify authorization and assurance documentation.
Evaluate system compliance with DoD security requirements through validation and risk analysis.
Provide technical assessments of software, systems, or networks and recommend security improvements.
Operate DoD security tools and monitoring solutions, such as Elastic Endpoint Security Solutions (ESS).
Conduct regular security audits and annual inspections at domestic and foreign sites (approximately 10% travel).
Collect, document, and report security-related data as required.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Advanced degree preferred.
4+ years of related experience.
Active secret clearance is required to start.
Experience with RMF processes, risk assessment, and security compliance.
Familiarity with DoD security standards, NIST controls, and vulnerability assessments.
Proficiency with security monitoring tools (e.g., ACAS, NESSUS, Elastic, SCAP).
Ability to document security risks and recommend countermeasures.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to travel up to 10% for inspections and audits.
Preferred Qualifications:
Linux certification (e.g., Linux+, LPIC, RHCSA, RHCE).
Experience with MDA elements or system-of-systems environments.
Knowledge of POA&Ms, NISPOM, system audits, and RMF package development.
Experience supporting stakeholders in Elastic platform operations.
