The Bernard Group is looking for a Planner to join our Fixture Packaging team. In this role, you will be responsible for the development, estimating and procurement of all necessary direct materials required to complete Fixture Packaging projects. The planner works with the engineered drawings and RFE provided by the Project Management teams to identify the necessary packaging required for the successful completion of the job. The Fixture Packaging Planner is responsible for developing, estimating and acquiring the correct amount, type, quality, and within budgeted cost of the direct material necessary for safe delivery of Fixtures to the customer.
Shift Available: Monday through Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
A variety of these traits will help land you this job. If you have:
- High school degree or GED equivalent.
- 2+ years experience in a manufacturing environment.
On top of that you must:
- be technically savvy with computer skills, including email, and other computer applications. You must be able to have the mechanical aptitude to comprehend complex instructions and apply that learning to effectively and efficiently interact with other production areas and outside vendors supplying inventory/materials.
- have at least an intermediate skill set with Microsoft Excel, and must be able to work with a ruler and calculator.
- adhere problem-solving skills in determining better, more efficient workflows with the same high-quality standard, and effectively handling remediation relative to inventory issues such as shortages, quality issues, missed deadlines, and the need for re-work.
- be able to work with other department teams to look at methods to improve upon the workflow and communicate possibilities to become more efficient and drive out costs.
- identify different types of packaging that best accommodate different materials and products.
- drive results, take initiative and be action-oriented by applying time management and self-management skills every day in order to meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude.
- be able to collaborate and embrace the “Art of the Team” by working with people to create unique solutions.

In this position you’ll:
- design, coordinate and test packaging for retail fixtures
- be an active participant as needed in the labs process to be on the front end of Fixture projects
- create packaging designs, plans and estimates that meet the requirements for safe delivery of fixtures to the customer based on shipping method. This can be achieved through TBG software, outside vendors or standard off the shelf packaging options
- collaborate as needed with Project Management, production and outside vendors.
- partner with Internal Fixture Planners and Schedulers to ensure that all goods are planned, procured and delivered within the defined timeline and budget.
- analyze packaging solutions for quality, efficiency and overall effectiveness of protecting the fixtures being packed for continuous improvement opportunities
- perform miscellaneous projects and complete various tasks as requested by management.

- able to apply manual dexterity and visual acuity for computer keyboarding and office equipment use and to review detailed reports and information.
- willing to move around the plant and office areas repeatedly throughout the day.
