Description
General Purpose:
The Sales Representative is responsible for new and used agricultural sales, turf equipment, and compact construction equipment sales to new and existing PrairieLand Partners (PLP) customers. The Sales Representative reports to the Store Manager.

- Uses Company provided systems and tools (i.e. Sales Advantage) to fully document, track, record, follow-up, and capture all related sales activity in a timely and accurate manner.
- Achieves sales goals as established by the Store Manager.
- Effectively understands and uses manufacturers programs and resources to attain acceptable market share levels.
- Sells whole-goods, parts, and services as a customer solution and builds long term relationships within their territory to maximize customer and company profitability.
- Develops a keen awareness of the competition and competitive products, as well as business and industry trends.
- Coordinates and conducts field demonstrations as well as operates machinery at customer work site.
- Coordinates and communicates with customers and applicable departments to ensure timely delivery of purchased equipment.
- Ensures customer satisfaction through timely follow up on each sale.
- Coordinates retrieval and delivery of equipment as needed.
- Follows all safety rules and regulations and acts as an ambassador for PLP while performing work assignments.
- Proactively seeks and participates in available training to develop and advance knowledge base and skill set.
- Participates in all company/location driven communication efforts, including open book meetings, huddles, department meetings, and other related efforts.
- Maintains current product knowledge on features and benefits of all equipment potentially saleable by the dealership.
- Maintains assigned PLP vehicle and equipment in good working condition.
- Performs other duties as required and necessary to ensure the success of PrairieLand Partners.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to consistently promote, support, work, and act in a manner in support of PrairieLand Partners vision, mission, and values.
- Strong knowledge of used equipment values and ability to evaluate properly for trading purposes.
- Knowledge of and ability to follow Dealer Selling Process.
- Knowledge of John Deere and competitive products, knowledge of agricultural and turf equipment, and knowledge of farming and operational practices.
- Ability to maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service.
- Knowledge of current financing options to assist customers with securing the purchase of new and used goods.
- Ability to analyze and interpret basic sales reports.
- Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions.
- Strong ability to communicate effectively with customers, employees, and peers.
Education:
- High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) equivalent is required.
Experience:
- One year of equipment sales experience is preferred.
- Experience in an agriculture dealership is preferred.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.
Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications:
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must have and maintain a valid drivers license.
- Passing a driving record (MVR), criminal history background checks, employment verification, and drug screen will be required prior to the start of employment.
- Certified Crop Advisor certification is preferred.

- Travel to customer locations, meetings, and other store locations on a regular basis is necessary.
- Occasional outdoor work in extreme weather conditions (hot/cold); walking on uneven terrain; occasional exposure to insects.
- Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles and vibration.
- Noise level in the work environment is moderate.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required including cold weather gear, eye protection, gloves, and provided uniform.
- A clean and safety-conscientious work environment is required.
- Work may involve long hours and overtime during holidays, weekends, and evenings.
- May be required to rotate on-call responsibilities.
