Position Summary:
CCMSI is seeking an experienced Workers’ Compensation Claim Consultant to join our team in Lisle, IL. In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing a diverse caseload, with opportunities for career advancement within CCMSI. After an initial training period, this position offers a hybrid work schedule with potential flexibility. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in the Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin jurisdictions. This role requires a strong commitment to client satisfaction, adherence to corporate standards, and effective claim management across multiple accounts.
Responsibilities
- Claim Management: Investigate, evaluate, and adjust assigned Workers’ Compensation claims following established guidelines and state laws.
- Reserve Management: Establish or recommend reserves within assigned authority levels.
- Invoice Review and Negotiation: Review, approve, or oversee medical, legal, and other relevant invoices, ensuring reasonable costs and negotiating any disputes.
- Payments and Settlements: Authorize and issue payments in line with industry standards and within established limits; negotiate settlements as appropriate.
- Vendor Coordination: Oversee external vendors, including legal counsel, surveillance, and case management.
- Subrogation Claims: Assess and manage subrogation opportunities.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain personal diary entries in the claim system, prepare detailed status reports, and provide updates on payments and reserves.
- Client Communication: Coordinate timely and effective communication with clients, claimants, and relevant parties throughout the claim process.
- Training and Development: Assist in client training sessions, conduct claim reviews, and prepare newsletter articles as needed.
- Compliance and Representation: Ensure compliance with corporate handling standards and attend mediations, hearings, or legal conferences as necessary.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of Workers’ Compensation claim experience required, preferably in IL, IN, and WI jurisdictions.
- License: An adjuster’s license is preferred but not required.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Skills: Excellent communication, analytic, and negotiation skills, with strong organizational abilities. Must demonstrate flexibility, accuracy, initiative, and the ability to work independently.
- Technology: Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
- Other Requirements: Reliable attendance within client service hours, discretion, and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
Working Conditions
- Physical Demands: Primarily a sedentary role, with occasional lifting of up to 15 pounds. Requires visual and auditory acuity.
- Environment: Hybrid work setting post-training, reporting to Lisle, IL.
