Custodial Support Specialist
Job Summary:
The Custodial Support Specialist will clean and maintain the sanitary conditions of the office facilities.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Duties/Responsibilities:
- This position promotes sanitary conditions which prevent the spread of infection and odors.
- Responsible for providing clean, sanitary, comfortable, and orderly surroundings for employees and the public.
- Demonstrates knowledge and efficient use of cleaning techniques.
- Responsible for the cleaning and sanitizing of all restrooms and kitchen areas.
- Disposes of trash, waste, and other disposable materials daily with follow up during the day as needed.
- Damp dust furniture, light fixtures, windowsills, etc.
- Wet mop floors in bathrooms daily.
- Damp mops all corridor floors, meeting rooms and other areas on a routine schedule.
- Clean air vents weekly.
- Check areas for spills, water, etc. periodically during the day.
- Follow instructions on the use of germicidal solutions to clean.
- Plan work schedule for major tasks.
- Maintains a neat and orderly janitors’ room; ensures cleaning products and supplies are stocked.
- Washes windows.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of safety hazards and proper use of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
- Detail-oriented and thorough.
- Previous housekeeping experience industrial surroundings preferred.
- Ability to interact with employees, drivers, and visitors in a professional and polite manner.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must pass a background check.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods standing.
- Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
