Job Title: Manager of Loss Prevention and Security
Department: Loss Prevention

Position Summary: The Manager of Loss Prevention and Security serves as the subject matter expert in the area of Loss Prevention and Physical Security for the Company with focus on developing and driving solutions that will create an optimum associate and customer experience in a safe and secure environment. Develops the physical security and loss prevention strategy and best practices on an ongoing basis and continuously assesses protocols in the changing retail landscape. Provide oversight and expertise for investigations and interviews, physical security equipment and best practices and Loss Prevention/Asset Protection tools.
Principal Duties:
- Develop and communicate company-wide security strategic initiatives. Provide recommendations for changes in policy, programs and procedures to mitigate risks and protect Wawa’s people and assets.
- Manage the Senior Security Advisor assigned to managing the physical security programs for the company including security equipment (cameras, DVR’s etc.), external fraud, in house security program ( ie robbery training).
- Develop the strategy to build the framework to achieve engagement of store security for third party (or internal) guards and police and provide the management oversight of the third party contacts.
- Develop and manage LP/Security Division Budget. Analyze and control department expenses as related to the budget.
- Continuously identify security gaps in physical security, procedures, policies, surveillance equipment and alarm points and develop solutions to reduce financial loss and ensure a safe environment for customers and associates.
- Understand the external factors impacting the company’s security and the changing retail landscape in the areas of loss prevention and physical security at both store level and the company’s corporate officers and dairy.
- Make recommendations to senior management for loss prevention and physical security process improvements, and aid the rollout of corporate loss prevention initiatives.
- Ensure that LP investigations are conducted in a professional manner and findings are reported to the appropriate parties, including Wawa management and law enforcement.
- Build strong collaborative relationships with law enforcement (local, state and federal) and across the loss prevention, security and retail industry.
- Deliver detailed analysis and interpret data related to trends due to employee theft, cash loss, credit card fraud, policy violations and other factors utilizing BW reports, LP Case Tracking System, SAP reporting tools and other data.
- Build relationships and work closely with law enforcement partners to aggressively address ORC crimes related to Wawa. Conduct ORC investigations and utilize all available resources and contacts to identify and resolve ORC activity.
- Partner with business owners to ensure the LP/Physical Security guidelines are considered and incorporated into processes.
- Monitor field team resources to ensure that service delivery is efficient. Review all existing security equipment, staffing and programs for gaps and inefficiencies and develop solutions to strengthen defenses at Wawa. Monitor changes in the industry and develop programs and procedures to mitigate risk.
- Support Store Operations management on loss prevention and security. Provide training on such issues.
- Recommend and implement process improvements in conjunction with business partners.
- Conduct confidential investigations into employee theft, credit card fraud, cash losses, Garda System discrepancies, general shrink losses and other loss prevention and security investigations.
- Gather facts and data skillfully via interviews, store reports, store data and other investigative tools. Evaluate store records, conditions, and management to reconstruct the situations and conditions that caused losses.
- Resolve cases and recommend the best course of action for management including termination.
- Provide monthly & ad hoc detailed analysis of LP case data including trending financial impact of shrink due to theft and policy violations based on data recorded in the LP Case tracking system and trending and analyzing LP case data to provide critical and actionable information for management to react to opportunities and issues.
- Utilize BW and SAP reporting tools to identify potential financial benefits and develop business case using predictive models to justify efforts which target and prevent shrink and mitigate risk.
- Provide overall direction and support for team and monitor and assess individual work in accordance with high standards of excellence. Provide feedback, coaching, support, opportunities for development, complete performance appraisals, take corrective action when appropriate, and participate in hiring decisions.

Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field preferred with a CPP or CPA a plus
- 8+ years’ experience in Loss Prevention, Asset Protection and security industry in a high volume retail setting
- People Management is required
- Knowledge of SAP reporting tools including BW reports
- Technical knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of criminal justice process and court system.
- Outstanding network of Law enforcement and industry contacts
- Knowledge of security equipment and reporting tools
