SUMMARY:
The Practice Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the dental practice, including managing staff, and finances, while ensuring patient satisfaction.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the dental practice, using discretion in
setting team member schedules to maximize patient satisfaction, as well as,
operational metrics. - Implement practice-based marketing plans to market to new patients. Ensure
ongoing relationships by delivering outstanding patient care. - In concert with HR, hire all positions, except doctors. Responsible for terminating
all positions except doctors. - Manages a team of clinical/dental professionals, including Hygienists, Hygiene
Assistants, Dental Assistants, and Business Associates. Responsible for
onboarding new team members, defining and setting role-specific expectations.
Empower team members to take responsibility for their jobs and goals. Per their
discretion, delegate duties and responsibilities ensuring accountability and
regular feedback. Coaches, mentors, and develops staff, including overseeing
new hire onboarding and providing career development planning and
opportunities. Completes annual performance reviews and prepares merit
recommendations. Conducts mid-year performance check-ins. Provides effective performance feedback through recognition, rewards, and disciplinary action, with
the assistance of Human Resources when necessary. - In concert with Regional Leadership, analyzes, develops, and implements
strategic and operational planning for practice. Develops and uses discretion in
interpreting and managing organizational policies, practices, and procedures - Manages the practice’s finances, including the P&L budget to obtain company
metrics while delivering an outstanding patient experience. Manages accounts
receivables. Manages practice-based collections. May negotiate contracts with
local vendors. Manages inventory and ordering processes within budget.
Investigates and resolves as warranted all patient refunds. - Manages facility issues with the landlord. Finds and selects third-party vendors
as necessary for repairs and maintenance. - Is responsible through policy, attitude, and action, for providing strong customer
service including the handling of patient complaints and questions - Manages, investigates, and resolves patient accusations and threatening patient
behavior. Manages, processes, and resolves patient dismissals, coordinating
with the treating doctor, patient, MDP legal team, MDP Patient Services, and
MedPro, the company’s professional liability insurance carrier. - Is responsible for understanding and implementing insurance billing and coding
regulations to best serve patients, while maintaining company rules and legal
regulations. - Must possess a thorough understanding of Compliance-related issues, including
HIPAA privacy matters. Must recognize and respond to potential breaches. Upon
investigation of a potential breach, they coordinate with the MDP compliance
team and resolve as appropriate. This includes contacting the impacted patients
to notify them of the potential breach. - Investigate and report all work comp incidents, including the support of the claims
management process, including working with the claims adjuster. Also
investigates and processes general liability (patient injuries) and property
incidents. Participates in all legal proceedings when necessary. Verify expert
witness testimony requests in coordination with the MDP legal team. Coordinate
and schedule with the requesting entity (i.e., state dental boards, coroner death
investigations, etc.) - Devotes themselves to continuous quality improvement including seeking all
educational opportunities for growth and improvement and encouraging
subordinates to do the same.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
- Bachelor's Degree in healthcare administration or related field (Preferred)
- 3 plus years of experience in medical/dental practice(Required)
- Supervisory Experience (Preferred)
