STUDENT OFFICE SUPPORT JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY: The Survey Support role is designed to provide students with the opportunity to get hands on experience in a survey field and office setting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
· Assist with preparing maps and drawings from survey field data. Maps and drawings to include Plats, ALTA surveys, Topographic Maps, As-Builts, Vicinity Maps, some Engineering Plans
· Help prepare legal descriptions and exhibit drawings.
· Assist with deed plotting
· Assist with preparation of TINs, surface models, and contours from field data
· Learn to perform typical coordinate geometry calculations such as intersections, curves, inverses, area calculations, etc.
· Begin to learn CAD standards.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: No Education or Experience needed.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: None.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
