Brown and Caldwell has an exciting opportunity for an entry to mid-level Project Engineer to join our Vancouver, British Columbia office to provide engineering support and task management for our project managers and manage small projects/task orders of your own. The ideal candidate should have strong verbal and written communication skills, be highly organized and capable of working in a diverse team environment and handling multiple tasks with competing priorities. The candidate should have 4+ years of experience working with wastewater treatment plant projects related to feasibility studies, planning, design, and construction support.

Detailed Description:
- Perform engineering work in various engineering fields with an emphasis on wastewater treatment process mechanical design and design services during construction.
- Manage projects and tasks for projects related to wastewater treatment plant infrastructure including liquids and solids processing, odor control, biological and chemical treatment, etc.
- Lead engineering evaluations, technical memoranda, reports, execute design calculations, and prepare plans and specifications with support of senior level engineering staff.
- Construction administration, including shop drawing reviews and RFI responses, and lead the development of construction change orders.
- Lead administrative and project management related tasks for various engineering design projects, including management of subconsultants.
- Interface directly with Clients and third-party construction managers, present engineering findings..
- Perform field activities such as site investigations.
- Data collection, manipulation, analysis, and documentation.
- Assist with business development pursuits writing technical proposals and assisting with budgeting. Lead project pursuits of small and moderate size.
- Adhere to Brown and Caldwell’s QA/QC process.
Required Qualifications:
- BS Degree in Engineering (Civil, Environmental, Chemical, or Mechanical).
- Minimum of 4 years of professional work experience in the design and/or design services during construction of water/wastewater treatment plants.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in British Columbia or ability to obtain BC P.Eng. within 6 months of hire.
- Candidate must have strong verbal/written communication skills, organizational skills, and the ability to work well both independently and in team environment.
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Teams, Outlook). Understanding of Autodesk Revit / AutoCAD software, BlueBeam.
- Valid driver's license and good driving record required.
- Self-starter results-oriented, and ability to work under deadlines.
- Good technical skills with the ability to articulate ideas and concepts.
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and on large coordinated teams.
- Ability and willingness to perform field work at various sites.
- Strong aptitude for researching and solving technical problems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MS degree in (Civil, Environmental, Chemical, or Mechanical) Engineering.
- Experience with construction administration and project management experience of designed systems.
- Field / construction experience.
Salary Range: The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee’s primary work location and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Salary: $100,000 - $136,000 CAD
