Summary of Duties:
- Prepare the construction site each day by preparing materials, tools, and equipment.
- Perform building construction tasks including concrete, general carpentry, and finishes; operating an array of hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment, with training.
- Assist in the layout, forming, pouring, and finishing of concrete foundations, footings, walls, and slabs.
- Perform concrete finishing tasks such as screeding, leveling, floating, troweling, edging, jointing, and creating decorative textures as specified.
- Patch and repair concrete, inspect, fix imperfections, replace damaged areas, and refinish the surface.
- Perform general carpentry and carpentry finish work such as steel and wood framing, drywall, cabinet, door, window, and hardware installation, trim, flooring, ceiling tiles, and more.
- Perform demolition work including demolishing structures, concrete, interior finishes, fixtures, and other materials.
- Install and fasten metal trim and sheeting on structures according to specifications and shop drawings.
- Load and unload construction supplies and equipment.
- Shovel materials to and from the job site such as dirt, asphalt, etc.
- Perform regular site clean up including removing debris, sweeping work areas, organizing tools and materials, and disposing of waste in designated containers to maintain a safe and orderly job site.
- Actively participate in the daily crew workflow plan, tailgate talk, and safety talks.
- Follow all company and site-specific safety protocols including proper use of PPE and other safety equipment, identifying and reporting hazards and unsafe conditions to supervisors immediately.
- Other duties as assigned.
Working Hours: Generally, expect to work 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday, from 7:00AM – 4:00PM. Occasional overtime may be required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction performing duties in concrete, steel, and carpentry.
- Active driver's license with reliable means of getting to and from the jobsite.
- Ability to travel out of town, and over-night as needed.
- Minimum Tool Requirement: 16oz or larger hammer, crescent adjustable wrench, screwdriver (6-1 type), tape measure, speed square, retractable utility knife, chalk box, lineman or rebar pliers.
Travel: Some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected; job sites are located throughout Siouxland and across the state.

Working Conditions:
Employees may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration, loud noises, and more within OSHA standards. Job duties are often performed in close proximity to other people. Employees often work in outdoor conditions that include inclement weather such as heat, humidity, cold, wind, and dust. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly, stand for long periods of time, walk for moderate-to-long distances on varying surface conditions, climb, crawl, crouch, reach, grip, push, and pull without issue. Must possess adequate communicative, auditory, and visual capabilities to avoid safety hazards.
