Job Description
Position Summary: Supervise and lead an automated shipping facility along with semi-automated receiving facility. Manage the reconciliation process between inbound and outbound of cased beverages over a 10-hour shift. Lead and direct team of union shipping associates, mechanics, yard jockeys, non-Union contracted system technicians and other administrative associates across two buildings.
Principal Duties:
Supports and drives work practices that ensure the safety and welfare of associates assigned to the department. Supports and promotes Food Safety by adhering to and enforcing all GMP’s established by Wawa. Develops and supervises the scheduling of workforce personnel to provide adequate labor to support daily receiving and shipping demands within the confines of Union Collective Bargaining Agreement. Prioritize, direct and facilitate the repair, maintenance, and safe operation of an automated storage and retrieval system. Partners cross-functionally to develop and implement best practices in cost reduction and efficiency gains. Manages multiple financial accounts assisting in financial control within the department. Establishes controls in shift operations to ensure compliance with sanitation guidelines. Participates in, leads or sponsors teams within the department to address issues that impact safety, customer service, food safety and productivity. Develops, trains and implements the standards for all operating procedures and GMP’s. Maintains associate records of performance, attendance and related personnel information. Perform in other specialized duties or projects as required by the Warehouse Manager and Assistant Managers. Assists in managing P&L and labor costs (scheduling and overtime control). Collaborate and partner with peers to effectively run the daily operation of the warehouse.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience in positions of increasing responsibility
- 5-7 years warehousing experience (automation environment preferred)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with factory automation and warehouse management (SAP) systems
- Experienced trainer of powered equipment processes/operation in accordance with OSHA standards
- Ability to adapt to changing technology in the work process.
- Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Working knowledge of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) compliance requirements.
- Knowledge of HACCP, GMP’s and SQF
- Ability to work a flexible schedule supervising a Unionized hourly workforce.
- Ability to supervise across three floors and two warehouses and climb stairs
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time
