WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Quality Control Technicians (QC for short) make sure our products meet our safety, quality, and customer standards. QC's need to have strong attention to detail, problem solving, and organizational skills.
Essential functions

- Perform a variety of regular and continuous Quality Control checks during production and on finished goods to ensure product quality and packaging meet required customer specifications and food safety guidelines.
- Maintain proper rotation to ensure regular and balanced quality checks are performed at each machine within the required frequency.
- Accurately and timely document Quality Control checks per required guidelines.
- Communicate necessary information to Machine Operators, Leads and/or Supervisors/Managers regarding product quality and packaging defects and/or non-conformances discovered during control checks.
- Research defects and/or non-conformances all the way back to the source and report such findings.
- Grade incoming product samples received by truck and rail.
- Maintains consistent quality standards on all incoming and outgoing paperwork for the product.
- Documents Quality Control checks per required guidelines accurately and timely.
- Communicates necessary information to Machine Operators, Leads, and/or Supervisors/Managers regarding product quality and packaging defects discovered during control checks.
- Grades incoming product samples received by truck and rail.
- Checks weights on inbound rail cars and schedules and releases rail cars as necessary.
- Pulls and ships outbound samples for customers.
- Communicates variations in Housekeeping and National Food Safety standards to the Quality Control Supervisor as they occur.
- Monitors and completes necessary documentation with grade and lot information.
- Ensures that all QC documentation is complete and accurate.
- Communicates with management and other maintenance personnel on a timely basis to facilitate maintenance and repairs.
- Ceases production when serious product defects or risks arise.
- Complies with company safety policies and maintains clean and orderly work area and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) procedures, including timely and accurate documentation of required SQF forms.

Working Environment and Physical Demands:
- Frequently (more than 75% of time) required to: stand and/or walk, use ladders and climb stairs, bend and stoop, reach, push/pull, kneel and crouch. Lift, carry and/or move items up to 100 pounds, without assistance; use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls, to verbally communicate; and to hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

WHAT WE NEED
MUST-HAVES:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Ability to deal effectively with conflict.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage priorities and workflow.
- Flexibility and willingness to work within constantly changing priorities, and accommodate unscheduled changes in duties, and work overtime as needed.
- Must display a positive attitude and work well with all levels of personnel, whether individually or in a team environment.
- Effectively communicate questions, problems, and reports to co-workers, supervisory and management personnel.
- Maintains regular attendance and punctuality.
- Intermediate Math skills
- Basic computer knowledge including knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) .
