Position Overview:
Perform human resources related duties at the professional level and may carry out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: administrative support of day-to-day Human Resources operations, employee relations, training, employment, labor relations and affirmative action.
Position Responsibilities:
- Responsible for operational and technical personnel duties
- Employment application intake
- Facilitate interview process
- Ensure all pre-employment screening processes are fulfilled
- Responsible for maintenance of confidential personnel files, personnel actions, preparing
recruitment lists and job postings
- Employment verifications
- Assist Manager with employee/personnel projects; training and benefits administration
- Establish various reports and documents to provide current personnel information
Partner with employees and management to communicate various human resources
policies, procedures, laws, standards, and government regulations.
- Conduct exit interviews and analyze data; make recommendations to the management
team for corrective action and continuous improvement.
- Respond to employee relation issues such as employee complaints, harassment
allegations, and civil rights complaints.
- Represent the company for any unemployment claims.
- Facilitate and/or provide training (including orientation) to the workforce.
- Maintain and coordinate employee recognition programs.
- Interview, screen, and recruit job applicants to fill entry level, professional, and technical
job openings.
- Review applications and interview applicants to match experience with specific job-
related requirements.
- Maintain working relationship with union officials and adhere to terms of labor contract
by monitoring day-to-day implementation of policies concerning wages, hours, and
working conditions.
- Represent management in investigating, answering, and settling grievances, by arranging
and scheduling grievance hearings between union personnel, supervisor and the
management team.
- Respond to all EEOC and/or NLRB charges.
- Conduct new hire orientation.
- Any other duties that may arise.
Special Skills:
The employee will have the ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex,
difficult, and emotional issues. The employee will have the ability to research and analyze various types
of data information. This employee must have the ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues using judgment that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures,
regulation /or government law. This position requires the ability to organize and prioritize work.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, apply range of motion within hands and fingers, including sensitivity to touch, and use a computer. The employee frequently is required to talk, hear, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
