Bass is currently seeking an experienced commercial construction Project Manager. The Project Manager coordinates all preconstruction and construction activities throughout the duration of the project and is the main point of contact between Bass, the Client, Engineers, city/municipality and Architect.
The selected candidate will be responsible for carrying out the following duties:
- Partnering with estimating department throughout bidding process and handoff of awarded projects
- Review subcontract bids for completeness, revise as necessary and negotiation best possible contract with subcontractors and material suppliers
- Set up project through proper accounting procedures
- Establish and maintain a working relationship with the client, based on a commitment to industry leading customer service that results in complete customer satisfaction and future project opportunities.
- Develop and maintain a project schedule consistent with contractual requirements. Creating and maintaining a schedule pace that will ensure timely completion.
- Issue Purchase Orders for necessary materials
- Maintain project budget
- Prepare and review with Superintendent Job Start Package
- Conduct preconstruction meetings with appropriate parties
- Conduct periodic job meetings during construction with appropriate parties
- Partner with Superintendent, assist with job specific procedures and adjust progress as necessary to insure timely completion of project
- Partner with Superintendent to ensure job specific safety requirements are established and complied with by all project participants.
- Process all required paperwork for both internal and external use
- Ensure that both Company and client objectives are being met

- Prepare timely draw requests and invoicing with required backup for accounting
- Travel as necessary for the proper execution of assigned projects
- Ensure a strong project closure by proactively determining and executing client’s requirements for “turn over”, completing all required documentation, acquiring all lien waivers and final payments.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Degree in Construction Management and a minimum of 3 years project management experience with restaurant, petroleum/convenience store, bank/credit union and retail projects. Possess the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Experience may be considered in lieu of education.
- Building Operations – has a range of experience in field operations and construction means and methods, includingscheduling, ordering, field supervision, quality control, production of all phases and project closeout.
- Estimating – can participate in developing bid strategy. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and other documents as well as develop sub bid packages, negotiate, and award subcontracts.
- Staff – Ability to perform under pressure, evaluate situations and make timely, accurate decisions. Full understanding and ability to interact with all departments to ensure each member of the team has all of the information required to perform their specific responsibilities effectively. This includes assisting in the establishment of goals and priorities for the team that hold the entire team accountable. Work with others as a team player and coaches staff members aiding in their career development. Maintains a competitive advantage by staying current with industry standards
- Client Relationships – establishes positive relationships with clients with the ultimate responsibility to provide the best customer service in the industry.
- Business Development – participates in presentations and sales calls; seeks project opportunities from past and current clients.
- Financial Understanding – understands project cost reporting systems and can use them to accurately communicate the financial status of a project.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, organized with strong problem-solving skills. Computer proficiency in the Windows environment
