Harris Civil Engineers, LLC, located in Orlando, FL, is a well-established civil engineering firm providing design services for large site development projects, including resort/hotels, theme parks and commercial projects both locally and internationally. CIVIL ENGINEER

The primary responsibilities of the Engineer are assisting with Site Development Planning and storm water design and permitting, site and facilities design, commercial site development layouts, utility system design, and related services. Duties also include generating engineering reports, and providing engineering oversight during construction.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Assist in the various design elements to complete a project, component, or system with other team members with clear and specific objectives involving conventional types of plans, surveys, investigations, structures, and/or equipment.
Assists in the preparation of complete project documentation to include plans, specifications, and engineer estimates including the collection, assembling, and organizing of project data.
Evaluates, selects, and adapts standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to project assignments; formulates and solves problems with guidance and direction.
Plans and coordinates detailed aspects of engineering work; works on multiple projects of moderate size or portions of major projects using time efficiently to stay within budget and deliver on time.
Assists in the preparation of project scopes, tasks, budgets, and schedules.
Interacts and collaborates with contractors, and other project team members.
Attends project meetings and presents specific aspects of engineering assignments/project.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
Proficiency with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Storm water permitting experience.
Grading and drainage design experience.
Utility design.
Proficiency with MS Outlook, MS Excel, and MS Word.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, ABILITY, AND SKILLS

Analytical skills to perform engineering calculations for design, analysis, test and implementation of Facilities related systems.
Proven ability to work with team members of diverse experience and educational backgrounds.
Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering plans and specifications.
Experience with generating drawings, specifications, acceptance test procedures and maintenance/training documents.
Proficient in developing and tracking project budgets and schedules.
Excellent oral, written and presentation communication skills.

SENIOR CIVIL CAD DESIGNER

The position will assist on all phases of site development/civil engineering including grading design, storm water design, and utility design. The successful candidate must have strong capabilities in AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Excel. Our designers are involved in several projects at one time involving numerous team members, exceptional communication skills and the ability to work well with others is essential.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Performs Computer Aided Drafting by use of AutoCAD and Civil 3D software.
Develops designs and drawings from preliminary concepts, sketches, specification sheets, engineering directives, and other data, according to client specifications or need.
Submits documentation packages and produce drawing sets and standard operating procedures.
Assuring the maintenance of drawing files for active projects.
Responsible for staying current with the latest developments in CAD.
Handles multiple concurrent projects.
Ability to work as part of a team.
