Basic Purpose and Scope:
This position is responsible for efficient and effective use of planning and scheduling resources to optimize the plants equipment performance. The planner will manage work orders and priorities to reduce preventable mechanical failure and line downtime. This person will assist with developing and tracking performance goals through maintenance metrics. The goal of this person is to prepare and organize the work of tomorrow.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Perform all job duties and operations in a safe manner, while following all federal, state, and Litehouse regulations and policies
- Manage planned preventative maintenance system on a 3-week cycle. This includes updating, prioritizing, scheduling, tracking, closing, and reporting on preventative maintenance work orders as required.
- Manage the plants working corrective maintenance work orders and backlog
- Review work requests for accuracy, validity and clarity. Determine the scope of work with parts list. Escalate issues to the Department Leader if work does not seem to be valid or will have excessive cost or complexity
- Assist procurement with part inventory, orders, tracking, and receiving as assigned
- Work with the stock room to identify critical spares and long lead time parts. Review parts inventory for obsolete or unused parts to maximize spare parts turns
- Primary contact between production planning and maintenance to communicate maintenance access needs and plan work for downtime windows
- Produce and communicate weekly work schedules by resources availability and priority
- Verify all tools, resources, information and labor is available prior to scheduling work
- Ensure the planned maintenance program support the requirements of any plant certifications or audits. Support the plant during these various audits as required
- Update and report maintenance performance metrics as requested by the maintenance manager
- Actively engage in continuous improvement for all maintenance systems and workflows. Contribute in non-maintenance related improvement activities as required
- Develop and perform training for technical content as required
- Perform analysis of breakdowns. Develop and implement corrective actions using all available tools
- Utilize project management fundamentals to plan and execute project
- Maintains clean work area and participates in housekeep throughout the facility and grounds
- Maintain the CMMS data base information accurately and effectively to build equipment histories that include repairs, inspections and breakdown events
- Responsibility to adhere to Food Safety policies and report food safety and quality concerns to their supervisor
- Must be able to work scheduled shifts and meet attendance requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED TO PERFORM WORK:
- Education: High School Diploma/GED Strongly Preferred
- Minimum 2 years' experience (5 years preferred) as a maintenance mechanic or electrician in an industrial food manufacturing environment
- Preferred at least 1 years' experience maintenance planning or scheduling in a maintenance department. A formal training program or multiple courses highly desired
- Must have strong verbal and written communications skills with ability to express ideas professionally, effectively and efficiently in the common language
- Ability to establish & maintain effective working relationships with all contacts inside and outside of the company with strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Experience with CMMS/EAMS or similar, Microsoft word, excel, and PowerPoint are required
- Must maintain a level of consistency and repetition as well as communicate requirements across multi-functional work groups
- Ability to learn and apply new information and methods from various sources such as courses, books, the internet and so on
- Ability to multi-task, focus and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
