Summary
A Project Engineer Intern is responsible for assisting from conception to completion of construction projects by organizing and controlling all elements of a project. A project engineer should have a firm grasp on both time and management skills.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Develops project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans and conferring with management
- Determines project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements, and reviewing bids from contractors
- Interact daily with clients both internal and external
- Cooperate and communicate effectively with project manager and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support
- Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans) and report regularly on the project status
- Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, performance standards and specifications
Required Knowledge, Experience & Competencies
- Valid driver’s license.
- OSHA 10
- Bachelor’s Degree or Associate’s Degree in Construction Management, or related field experience.
- Must be able to navigate and access all areas of a job site in all types of weather.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
- Ability to handle submittals (and logs), RFI’s (and logs), PCO’s (and logs).
- Computer literacy.
- Display a positive “go getter “attitude.
- Good time management.
- Decision making and leadership skills
Preferred Knowledge, Experience & Competencies
- OSHA 30
- Quick Problem-Solving Skills.
- Interiors Knowledge a plus
Work Format
This position requires team collaboration and presence at in-person meetings and is best suited to a traditional work schedule. Occasional remote work is acceptable
.
Travel Requirements
- Occasional travel (10-15%) to meetings and events, typically within a 150-mile radius of the office.
- Travel to various job site locations as needed.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 75lbs. as needed.
- Ability to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to see well (naturally or with correction).
