Land Development Associate Engineer

OWN, Inc. • Full-time • Springfield, MO, US • 2d ago

We're looking for an Associate Engineer to help bring projects to life, creating spaces and infrastructure that support the growth of the communities where we live and work.

In this role, you'll collaborate with engineers, designers, and project teams to develop plans for residential, commercial, and other land development projects. From initial design through construction, you'll put your engineering skills to work solving challenges, developing practical solutions, and seeing ideas become reality. If you're eager to grow your skills, take on new challenges, and make a lasting impact alongside a team of OWNers who are passionate about what they do, there's a place for you at OWN.

What you’ll be doing:

You'll help turn land development ideas into reality, working alongside experienced engineers and project teams to create spaces where communities can grow. Along the way, you'll:

Collaborate with project teams to design land development projects, including site layouts, grading, drainage, and utility systems.
Perform engineering calculations and analysis to develop practical, accurate, and cost-effective design solutions.
Prepare construction plans, technical reports, cost estimates, and supporting project documentation.
Assist with permitting, regulatory compliance, and coordination with reviewing agencies.
Support projects through construction, helping resolve design challenges and keep projects moving forward.

What we’re looking for:

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or equivalent, including successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
Experience with or willingness to learn civil engineering design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D or MicroStation.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with an eagerness to learn and collaborate.

Why OWN?

At OWN, ownership means something. We’re 100% employee-owned, equitably, and we help our OWNers understand how the business performs, how their work impacts it, and how that connects to the value they’re building.
Trust and autonomy. You’re empowered to make decisions and take ownership of your work without unnecessary layers.
Room to make an impact. Your ideas are heard, and you’ll have a real say in how your team works, improves, and grows.
Flexibility that’s real. The freedom to be a professional. The freedom to be a person.
People you actually enjoy working with. We take the work seriously, but not ourselves. Good people, low egos, plenty of laughs along the way.

Benefits

We take care of the people who take care of the work. That includes:

Employee ownership (ESOP) at no cost to you
401(k) with a 3% company contribution
Medical, dental, and vision coverage
16 days of PTO plus 8 paid holidays, growing with tenure
Paid parental leave
Company-paid life and disability insurance
Training and leadership development programs
