Job Summary
As a Personal Shopper, you will play a vital role in ensuring our customers have a seamless shopping experience, whether they're picking up orders or receiving deliveries. This dual-role position encompasses the responsibilities of both a Picker and a Dispenser, requiring attention to detail, excellent customer service, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Picker Duties
- Order Fulfillment: Accurately shop and pack orders, handling up to three orders simultaneously while maintaining a rate of 100 items per hour.
- Substitution Management: Select appropriate substitutions for out-of-stock items and notify customers as needed, aiming for 95% pre-substitution accuracy and 99% post-substitution accuracy.
- Quality Control: Check expiration dates to ensure customers receive products with at least three days of freshness.
- Inventory Management: Manage out-of-stock items in the app and label orders with categories such as alcohol, fragile, and perishable.
- Order Staging: Organize and stage completed orders for easy retrieval and distribution.
- End of Shift Tasks: Clean and restock equipment, and re-shop any canceled orders.
Dispenser Duties
- Order Dispensing: Conduct a quality check on all orders, ensuring perishables have a minimum of three days of freshness and non-dated items meet our "Would you buy it?" standard.
- Customer Interaction: Greet customers warmly as they arrive for pickup. Verify orders and gather them from the staging area, ensuring all bag labels are scanned before dispensing.
- Efficient Service: Dispense orders promptly, with a target wait time of under three minutes.
- Customer Assistance: Discuss any substitutions or out-of-stock items with the customer and offer to load groceries into their vehicle, paying special attention to fragile, large, or heavy items.
- End of Shift Duties: Clean and organize the staging area, and follow up with any no-show customers via email or voicemail. Let them know their order will be held for the next day, and provide instructions for rescheduling pickup.
3rd Party Delivery
Delivery customers will be handled the same in-store.
Dispense Key Differences:
- Dispenser needs to perform a quality/hygiene check of the vehicle that will be transporting our customer’s orders.
- Check for trash, smell, animals, smoke, etc. Anything that would reduce the quality of the order from the store to the customer.
- Employee to make an informed decision and defer to the department manager if needing to request a new delivery driver.
- Dispenser needs to verify with the driver which order is in the trunk and which order is to go in the back seat of their vehicle.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Customer Feedback: Collect and report customer feedback to improve service quality and customer satisfaction.
- Product Knowledge: Stay updated on store products, promotions, and policies to provide accurate information to customers.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe shopping environment.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other store departments to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED or above
- Excellent customer service skills, with a positive and friendly demeanor.
- Strong technology skills, including the ability to manage tasks through our proprietary app.
- Attention to detail, with a focus on quality and accuracy.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.
- Ability to quickly address and resolve issues and concerns.
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Previous experience in a retail or grocery environment is a plus.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
- Ability to work in varying temperature conditions, including refrigerated and freezer sections.
- Position is based in one of our grocery stores.
- Ability to be on your feet for 90% of your day.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Hand use: Grasping, manipulation, pushing, pulling.
- Must be able to bend, squat, and reach.
- Comfortable working in an environment with varying noise levels.
