About the Role:
The Controller will play an important role within Brinkman Construction’s leadership team, partnering directly with the CFO. This role will lead the Accounting Department and is responsible for day-to-day details of accounting operations and financial reporting. The Controller will collaborate with operations leadership and project teams to effectively integrate operations and accounting.
Essential Functions:
- Oversee work of accounting department including billing, AP, job costing, and general ledger work
- Manage, coach, and develop a team of 3+ accounting staff
- Responsible for timely and accurate financial reporting including monthly internal reporting and quarterly external reporting
- Oversee financial statement audit and other audits throughout the year
- Responsible for maintenance of financial projections including revenue and operating expenses
- Partner with CFO on strategic initiatives and employ an ownership mindset to look for areas of improvement within the accounting department and operations
- Treasury management
- Oversee work in progress tracking and reporting
- Work closely with project management on project cost reporting and cash flow projections
- Responsible for development and adherence to internal controls and accounting policies
- Collaborate with Operations Team to drive strategic initiatives
Requirements
Education and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, CPA license preferred
- 5 years of construction accounting experience
- 2 years of experience leading and motivating teams
- CMiC Software experience preferred
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel and experience with Power BI
- A passion for collaboration and teamwork
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Ability to take ownership of projects with high quality results

Salary Range: $120,000 to $140,000 annually. Salary is commensurate with technical skills and experience.
