JOB SUMMARY
The Truck Driver is responsible for over-the-road transport of Litehouse products to assigned destinations and pickup and delivery of other products.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Transporting finished goods and raw materials over land to and from manufacturing plants or retail and distribution centers
- Inspecting vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance
- Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions. Assist workers in loading and unloading truck
- Document and log work/rest periods according to DOT regulations
- Report defects, accidents, or violations
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school, trucking school diploma preferred
- Certifications: Possess and maintain Class "A" CDL and current DOT medical certification
- Six months to one-year related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules
- Operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concretes variables in standardized situations
- Must have strong verbal and written communications skills with ability to express ideas effectively and efficiently
- Must have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to establish & maintain effective working relationships with all contacts inside and outside of the company
