We are seeking a Marketing Specialist-Programs & Events
The Marketing Specialist – Program & Events is responsible for executing the promotional and research elements of the diverse marketing plans across utility programs, as well as planning, organizing, and executing a range of B2B events and tradeshows to promote Cascade Energy and the utility programs it implements. This role involves hands-on execution. Reporting to the VP of Market Development the Marketing Specialist - Programs & Events manages multiple, simultaneous projects including research, collateral development and updates, web content development and updates, paid advertising, earned media, and more.

What You Will Be Doing:

Program Marketing – Marketing Plan Implementation & Administration
- Understand utility programs, participation goals, and how marketing plans support them.
- Manage marketing activity plans, Asana tasks, and deliverables for assigned programs.
- Act as liaison between Cascade teams, utility marketing, and creative team to coordinate marketing activities.
- Lead meetings and ensure timely execution of marketing plans.
Program Marketing – Promotional Activities
- Oversee content creation, social media, landing pages, ads, and other promotions per the marketing plan.
- Apply audience targeting, SEO, and messaging guidelines to deliverables.
- Work with experts and content teams to author or refine content as needed.
Program Marketing - Copywriting and Collateral Development
- Assist in creating marketing materials, presentations, photography, and videos.
- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and project teams for brochures, fact sheets, and white papers.
- Ensure all materials align with branding guidelines and support regular newsletter publication.
Program Marketing - Website and Social Media
- Work with SMEs and marketing specialists to draft website and landing page content.
- Maintain program websites with up-to-date information.
- Manage event announcements and technical material on social media and coordinate paid campaigns, tracking KPIs.
Event/Tradeshow Planning & Execution:
- Plan and execute B2B events and tradeshows, handling logistics, vendor management, booth design, and coordination.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure alignment with company goals and brand standards.
- Manage event budgets for cost efficiency and develop promotional strategies with marketing teams.
- Coordinate travel, event registration, attendee engagement, and post-event follow-up.
- Track and report event performance, preparing quarterly reports and meeting updates.
Program Marketing - Event Planning & Execution:
- Plan and execute events that promote company programs, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
- Manage event timelines, budgets, and resources for smooth execution.
Affiliation Administration:
- Maximize benefits from affiliation memberships by tracking opportunities for networking, sponsorships, media, and speaking engagements.
- Oversee membership renewals, ensuring coordination with Accounts Payable.
- Report on affiliations during quarterly meetings
General:
- Support annual event and affiliation strategic planning.
- Maintain an up-to-date event calendar and manage standard processes for capturing leads and feedback.
- Stay informed on industry trends and collaborate with stakeholders to identify growth opportunities.
This is a full-time, exempt, hybrid position located in Portland Oregon. Must be available in-office to prepare and organize event materials, booth light boxes, banners, swag, and other event related items. Expectation is an average of in office 2-3 days per week.
Up to 25% travel is expected for this role, consisting primarily of travel to about 4 major events per year and team building activities.
Qualifications
Applicants for this role are required to have:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2+ years of experience in event management, tradeshow coordination, or a related role.
- Proven track record of successfully coordinating B2B events and tradeshows.
- Excellent organizational, project management, and multitasking skills.
Compensation & Benefits
Our total rewards include competitive pay and excellent benefits. The salary range for this position in Portland, Oregon is $69,600 - $85,000. However, final salary offered may vary depending on non-discriminatory factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experiences.
