Overview
The Multi-Line Claim Consultant is responsible for the investigation and adjustment of multi-line claims, including property and casualty (P&C) and liability claims. This position manages claims for multiple accounts and ensures quality service delivery in compliance with CCMSI’s standards and client expectations. Prior third-party administrator (TPA) experience is helpful. This role may serve as advanced training for promotion to a senior-level claims position.
Responsibilities
Claims Management:
- Investigate, evaluate, and adjust multi-line claims according to industry standards, state laws, and client handling instructions.
- Establish reserves and recommend changes as appropriate within authority levels.
- Authorize and process claim payments using established procedures and systems.
Vendor & Resource Coordination:
- Refer claims to external vendors (legal, surveillance, etc.) as necessary and oversee their work.
- Assess subrogation claims and facilitate resolution.
Negotiation & Settlement:
- Negotiate settlements in alignment with state laws, client instructions, and corporate standards.
- Resolve disputed bills or invoices effectively.
Client & Reporting Duties:
- Prepare detailed reports on claim status, payments, and reserves as needed.
- Communicate effectively with clients, claimants, and other stakeholders.
- Conduct claim reviews and client training sessions as requested.
Compliance & Development:
- Ensure compliance with corporate claims standards and jurisdictional requirements.
- Attend hearings, mediations, and legal conferences as necessary.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- 5+ years of multi-line claims handling experience required.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills (oral and written).
- Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- High level of organization, detail orientation, and initiative.
Technical Proficiency:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Licensure:
- Active Mississippi Adjuster License required.
Working Conditions
Hybrid Work Arrangement:
- After training, one in-office day per week.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
- Standard auditory and visual acuity for professional communication.
