Position Summary:
Join CCMSI as a Medical Only Claim Representative and play a key role in managing claims while supporting our dedicated claims team. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals looking to gain foundational experience in claims management and potentially advance to intermediate-level roles. You will oversee designated medical-only claims, ensuring they meet corporate standards and legal requirements.
Responsibilities
- Claim Management: Set up, manage, and maintain medical-only claim files in compliance with corporate standards and applicable laws.
- Financial Oversight: Establish reserves and recommend adjustments under supervision. Review and approve medical and miscellaneous invoices, resolving discrepancies as needed.
- Medical Coordination: Request and monitor medical treatments to ensure proper care for claimants.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed log notes, summarizing correspondence and medical records.
- Support Tasks: Assist claim staff on client service teams and provide general support for claims handling.
- File Maintenance: Close and archive files when appropriate, retrieving them as necessary for audits or reviews.
- Standards Compliance: Ensure adherence to corporate claim standards and client-specific handling instructions.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned to support the team.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Associate degree or two (2) years of related business experience required.
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to discretion, confidentiality, and responsive client service.
Performance Measurement:
- Performance evaluations and claim audits assess accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to corporate standards.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
- Occasionally lift objects weighing up to 15 pounds.
- Sufficient auditory and visual acuity to perform essential tasks.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:
- None required, though knowledge of medical terminology is advantageous.
