Overview
Symbria Rx Services at our Meadville, PA location is seeking a team oriented, experienced Lead Production Pharmacy Technician who shares our commitment to ensuring the health and wellness of seniors. The Ideal candidate will be a tech savvy, quick study with the ability to wear multiple hats.
POSITION SUMMARY
The primary purpose of the Lead Production Technician is to lead the production team by example and monitor and assign workflow to the production pharmacy technicians based on the needs of the department and overall operational demands.
Responsibilities
PRINCIPLE FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide basic supervision of department including adherence to Symbria Rx Services policies and procedures in the absence of department supervisor.
- Participate in the corrective action process as needed in partnership with management and/or Human Resources.
- Provide objective input at 90-day and annual performance evaluations.
- Communicate timely with department supervisor regarding obstacles in the workflow in order to enhance operational efficiency.
- Participate in the training program of all new Production Pharmacy Technicians, ensuring they receive appropriate instruction and guidance according to department and company policies and procedures.
- Assist the Production Workflow Supervisor in tracking quality measures including accurate dispensing and productivity standards.
- Communicate routinely and work collaboratively with Production Workflow Supervisor to assure efficient and effective pharmacy operations.
- Works collaboratively with Production Workflow Supervisor to further develop management skills.
- Perform the principle functions and responsibilities of the specific job description of the department being supervised (attach hereto), as needed.
- Any and all duties as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Pharmacy Technician license and/or Certification (CPhT) as per State requirement.
- Understanding and knowledge of calculations regarding compounds and IV’s, abbreviations, brand and generic comparisons for interpreting prescriptions and for filling.
- General computer knowledge, including Windows applications.
- Knowledge of business English, spelling and commercial arithmetic.
- Ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment and make independent decisions.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Pharmacy experience; minimum of 1-2 years.
- Must be able to work and lead in a flexible schedule as 24/7/365 operational needs dictate, including, when necessary, nights and weekends, holidays, covering open Pharmacy Tech shifts, or taking off-site phone calls to assist with emergent needs of the department.
