JOB SUMMARY
The Team Leader obtains optimum efficiency in all crew/dept activities of the formulation area while improving human safety, quality, human performance, food safety, the environment, training, and sanitation performance.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Monitor and coach employees on the importance of being personally responsible for their own safety behavior. Ensure that unsafe conditions are captured and corrected in a timely manner.
- Develop crew members by communicating EOs individual and crew training plans.
- Facilitate communication and consistency between shifts and teams. Conduct shift hand-offs with oncoming shifts.
- Responsible for monitoring verification of accurate records including HACCP and routine/non routine sanitation checklists, adherence to all food safety standards to ensure compliance.
- Ensure root cause analysis is completed for all formulation, human, quality, and safety issues and work to implement solutions.
- Lead and assist formulation setups, changeovers and decks are ran within the correct designated operating perimeters.
- Responsible for accurate and timely paperwork and documentation. Provide coaching and feedback when errors occur.
- Communicate with appropriate departments on constraints or limitations that may lead to shortcomings
- Assist in new hire orientation as needed and promote a positive training experience.
- Responsibility to adhere to food safety and quality policies, and report concerns to their supervisor. Correct any deviations.
- Perform other activities and duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma/GED strongly preferred
- One to three years related experience or training
- Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing equipment, work practices and processes.
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to multi-task, focus and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Good interpersonal and communication skills. Has ability to build rapport with every level in the facility.
- Experience with applying root cause problem solving tools.
- Demonstrated ability to learn
- Attention to detail by organizing time and resources efficiently
- A sense of ownership and pride in their performance and its impact on the company's success.
- Ensure compliance with food safety guidelines.
