The Accounts Receivable Clerk is responsible for maintaining all company records related to customer accounts, credit management, and collection activities. The position is not remote and will be required to report daily to the Corporate Headquarters in Chesterton, Indiana.
Starting pay is $20.16/hour

A day in the life of an Accounts Receivable Clerk includes processing all cash receipts as appropriate through Urschel systems ensuring proper application to customer account balances or to financial accounts for miscellaneous receipts. Manage customer credit and Urschel exposure to risk through the utilization of credit reporting information systems (such as DNB) and applying Urschel guidelines for assigning customer payment terms. Ensure timely payment by all customers utilizing available collection techniques. Accurately maintain customer account information (either electronic or in hard copy) related to tax exempt status, assigned payment terms, and credit records, etc.
The successful candidate must possess the working ability of Windows based computer programs including excel, word, and common bank web sites. Ability to self-manage multiple tasks to timely completion. Working knowledge of state sales tax rules to ensure proper application to customer accounts. Ability to use common account collection practices to maintain customer accounts in good standing. Clear communication (written and verbal) with internal and external customers.
