McFarland Johnson is a 100% employee-owned engineering company headquartered in Binghamton, New York. The company was founded in 1946 in the home of its founder, William H. McFarland. William, who started out offering engineering and surveying services. As he gradually added employees, William moved his operations to his first office. Over the past 75 years, McFarland Johnson has evolved from a small at-home operation to having 24 locations across 12 states.
In 1992, McFarland Johnson became employee-owned when it established its Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).
