Overview
As a Civil Engineering Principal for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), you'll manage project teams to create land development plans for our commercial, institutional, and energy clients across our Texas footprint. From a hospital parking lot, to an entire lifestyle shopping center, you'll take part in managing projects, reviewing work products, quality control, client interfacing, budgeting, and mentoring and supervising junior engineers. In managing junior engineers, you will review the design aspects which will include site layouts, grading plans, stormwater management facilities, water quality best management practices, and utilities. Interacting with clients, contractors, local government officials, you'll impact the whole project - from conceptual and design phases, through the regulatory review process, bidding, and construction, all the way to the grand opening.
Qualifications
- 15+ years experience working in the Land Development Sector;
- BS/MS in Civil Engineering;
- Experience successfully building and managing a Civil Engineering practice or demonstrated career advancement that would indicate you are ready to step into this role;
- A strong desire to help CEC grow its Civil Engineering practice service offerings, client base, and expertise in the gulf coast, coastal bend area of Texas;
- Membership and active participation in applicable trade groups and professional organizations;
- Professional Engineering Licensure (P.E.);
- Ability to speak and write professionally;
- Experienced in AutoCAD/Civil 3D, Excel, Word, HEC-RAS and other computer modeling software a plus;
- Local connections with developers, architects, energy clients, or other land development arenas.
