Position Overview

Spring - Summer 2025 Commercial Landscape Internship with The Davey Tree Expert Company

GAITHERSBURG, MD

The Davey Tree Expert Company is looking for exceptional students who are interested in expanding their field experience in the areas of landscape maintenance, installation, hardscape & design, and plant health care.

STARTING DATE:

Flexible - We are currently looking for Internship candidates for Spring/Summer, 2025.

Job Duties

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Grow your green career with us!
Interns will be assigned a manager that will mentor them through a variety of job experiences within the Commercial Landscape Service line
Enhance the appearance and value of properties through the cultivation of shrubs and trees.
Plant, spray, weed, fertilize, and water plants, shrubs, and trees.
Transplant seedlings, cuttings, trees, and shrubs.
Maintain and repair irrigation and climate control systems.
Drive, use, maintain and properly operate landscape equipment.

Hours: 40-50 hours per week, Monday-Friday with some Saturdays required.

Qualifications

Studying Arboriculture, Urban Forestry, Horticulture, Landscape Design, Forestry or related discipline
Driver’s license required. Commercial driver’s license highly valuable

SALARY:

Starting at $20 - $23 hourly

Must have enthusiasm for proper plant care and arboriculture
Love of the Outdoors!
Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Demonstrated ability to report for work regularly and punctually
Collaboration and communication skills
