AET is hiring a Field Technician with a home location of St. Paul, MN however travel is required to all assigned AET job locations for up to 3 weeks at a time. All days working away from St. Paul will include a per diem rate of $74.00 per day plus single occupancy lodging.

The position will coordinate with supervision, perform field and laboratory quality control testing of various construction materials. Perform a variety of field and lab tests per AET QA Procedures, maintaining a high level of quality and safety. The services provided within the company are performed to the standards of our industry including ASTM, ASIC, and ACI as well as state laws governing professional services. All services will be performed in accordance with AET's QA/QC procedure

Concrete and Soil Field Technician Job responsibilities:

Perform soil and concrete testing on slump, cylinder casting, cylinder de-molding, compression tests, soil inspections and testing, excavation observations, proof rolling observations, nuclear density testing, dynamic cone penetrometer testing, static cone penetrometer testing and laboratory Proctors and Gradations.
Prepare daily reports on observation activities.
Work with project team to ensure client specifications are accurate.
Follow safety rules and company policies and procedures.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

High School Diploma or equivalent
1-3 years of construction materials testing
Valid Driver’s License and good driving record
Ability to travel 95% of the work year
Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Able to work long hours and weekends as projects

PREFERRED:

ACI Field Technician Certification
Concrete and Soil testing experience
Proficiency with MS Office
ICC Inspector

Work Environment  

This job primarily operates in a field environment in outdoor conditions on construction sites with uneven ground and adverse weather conditions. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.   

Pay Transparency

Base compensation is expected to be in the range of $20.29 and $25.38 per hour based on skill set and experience. The selected candidate must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. without requiring visa sponsorship now or in the future.

The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands or finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50-100 pounds. The employee will occasionally push or pull equipment weighing up to 200 pounds. The employee is required to frequently work outside.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
