AET is hiring a Non-Destructive Testing Technician 2 for the St. Paul, MN Office
Develop AET’s chemical analytical services. Provide laboratory chemical analyses and testing of water, wastewater, soil, sludge, and various other matrices.

- Support environmental, industrial, agricultural, and municipal clients and industry by performing chemical analysis and testing services.
- Conduct atomic absorption (AA), flame and furnace spectrophotometry, specific ion electrode analysis, UV-Vis spectrometry, titrimetric analysis, and wet chemistry analyses.
- Develop and utilize internal SOPs including standardized tests following EPA (Environmental Protection Agency), Standard Methods, ASTM, AASHTO, and others in accordance with client needs and permitting requirements.
- Assist in developing in-house training and quality programs.
- Oversee all data generation by laboratory personnel. Review laboratory reports.
- Manage projects from initial authorization to completion including client interaction, work scheduling, establishing, and monitoring project budget, invoicing, and quality control.
- Ability to understand existing and emerging markets for chemistry and translate this knowledge into viable offerings for the company.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to targeted clients in targeted industries by providing high quality chemistry testing. Project management as well as client relationship management.
- Conduct field, laboratory, and office activities in a manner consistent with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations and AET’s Health and Safety Policy, and that promotes the safety and protection of employees, clients, and the public.
- Maintain valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record. Some positions may require the use of personal vehicle for company business.
- Properly use and maintain company instruments and equipment.
- Maintain professional licensure or certifications for areas of practice.
- Complete assigned projects within budget and satisfy client needs.
- Coordinate with other AET staff to increase efficiency, productivity, and communication.
- Prepare and perform staff performance reviews; participate in interviewing and hiring job applicants in area of assignment.
- Perform other duties as required to meet department and company goals.
Supervisory Responsibility
Provides work direction and supervision to Chemistry staff.
Qualifications and Education Requirements - Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related fields with at least 10 years of related experience, OR;
- Advanced degree in Chemistry or related fields with at least 8 years of related experience.
- Professional licensure or certifications for areas of practice.
- Knowledge of applicable laboratory work practices and procedures, regulations, standards, and codes.
- Communication skills sufficient to convey complex technical information in a clear manner to diverse audiences.
- Maintain valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
Preferred Skills - Advanced chemistry skills and expert knowledge of applicable chemistry, work practices.
- Knowledge of fundamental chemistry or scientific principles and ability to apply that knowledge to the job.
- Ability to maintain and grow profitable revenue stream from targeted clients in targeted industries.
- Ability to interact effectively with a wide variety of people, work effectively within project teams, resolve issues and problems in a constructive manner, and work independently.

Pay Transparency
Base compensation is expected to be in the range of $22.36 and $27.39 per hour based on skill set and experience. AET offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health benefits, insurance, Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), long term savings, paid time off, and professional development opportunities. This job primarily operates in a field environment in outdoor conditions on construction sites with uneven ground and adverse weather conditions. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50-100 pounds. The employee will occasionally push or pull equipment weighing up to 200 pounds. The employee is required to frequently work outside.
