Responsibilities
As a Nurse Case Manager, you’ll oversee comprehensive case management for assigned workers' compensation cases, ensuring claimants receive the best possible care while managing costs and driving positive outcomes.
Medical Case Management: Develop individualized treatment plans to facilitate optimal recovery and return-to-work outcomes.
Claims Support: Act as a resource for claimants, adjusters, physicians, employers, and attorneys, fostering non-adversarial relationships.
Medical Oversight: Review all medical records to assess treatment necessity, appropriateness, and effectiveness.
Field Work & Travel: Conduct on-site visits to claimants, physician offices, and district clinics, providing hands-on support.
Compliance & Documentation: Maintain case files per CCMSI guidelines, documenting all care, treatment plans, and cost-saving measures.
Collaborative Teamwork: Participate in team roundtables, medical reviews, and strategic discussions to enhance claim resolution.
Qualifications
What You Bring to the Table:
Must-Have Skills:
Current Michigan RN License
Prior Nurse Case Management experience in workers' compensation, trauma, rehabilitation therapy, or occupational medicine
Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written & verbal)
Ability to work independently and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel and Outlook
High attention to detail with strong documentation and organizational skills
