HB McClure is a commercial/industrial mechanical and plumbing contractor proudly serving Central PA and Northern Maryland. We are seeking an experienced Commercial/Industrial Boiler Technician to join our team to service clients throughout the region and maintain, diagnose and correct system problems. This includes replacing parts and adjusting controls for better performance, performing maintenance and tear downs for boiler inspectors, and working with our certified welders on tube replacements and other R Stamp repairs. Equipment and systems will be commercial and industrial in nature and will be for both process and heating applications. Our clients include manufacturing facilities, schools, healthcare facilities, and other businesses that have large boilers and burners. We service all major brands of boilers and burners.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

High school diploma or GED is required, trade/technical school or equivalent work experience, preferred
5+ years of troubleshooting and servicing commercial and industrial boilers with knowledge of PA state boiler codes and advanced boiler control systems (Honeywell, Fireye, Siemens, Auto flame, etc.)
Robust understanding with multiple boiler manufacturers including Clever-Brooks, Lochinvar, Hurst, Burnham, Triad, Fulton, Patterson-Kelly.
Proficiency in combustion testing and tuning of boiler systems
Thorough understanding of combustion and burner control circuit troubleshooting
Ability to successfully complete criminal background and drug screenings,
Valid PA Driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record are required

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

Perform service and preventative maintenance, start-up and commissioning of commercial boiler systems such as natural gas, propane, oil, dual fuel burners and steam systems, working with units up to 200 psi and 1000HP, including expansion tanks, pumps, water level controls, etc.
Maintain customer satisfaction by investigating customer concerns, answering questions and performing customer training, as needed.
Perform tear-down and closing of boiler systems for annual maintenance purposes
Prepare boilers and related systems for inspection by state certified inspectors
Ability to obtain trade related hand tools needed for job applying
