POSITION OVERVIEW
The Warehouse Manager plans, organizes and monitors the receiving, storage and distribution of all items received either from suppliers or internal transfers, ensuring a smooth and consistent operation so tires and products are distributed to proper locations in an effective and efficient manner from the main warehouse(s). This is done by engaging and leading a team of warehouse employees.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leads the activities of workers engaged in receiving, storing, testing, and shipping products or materials.
- Plan, develop, or implement and ensures the warehouse safety and security programs and activities are being done.
- Inspect physical conditions of warehouses, vehicle fleets, or equipment and order testing, maintenance, repairs, or replacements.
- Respond to customer or shipper questions and complaints regarding storage and distribution services.
- Develop and document standard and emergency operating procedures for receiving, handling, storing, shipping, or salvaging products or materials.
- Review invoices, work orders, consumption reports, or demand forecasts to estimate peak delivery periods and to issue work assignments
- Monitor inventory levels of products or materials in warehouses and works with procurement team on needs.
- Is always looking and making recommendations for more effective and efficient work patterns for the drivers and the stores.
- Ensure that Driver routes are most effective.
- Leads and handles all employee relations issues in the warehouse using available resources.
- Develop storage and distribution models that include factors such as warehouse locations, customer locations, or available transportation modes to maximize operational efficiency or sustainability.
- Track and trace goods while they are enroute to their destinations, expediting orders when necessary
- Prepare and manage departmental budgets

QUALIFICATIONS – required
- A valid driver’s license and insurable driving record
- Forklift and fall protection certification within 30 days of entry date
- Must be able to lift 75lbs regularly
- Associates degree OR 4+ years warehouse/transportation experience.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL FUNCTIONS
Physical Demands:
- Standing: 80% | Walking: 70% | Sitting: 5%
- Frequent stopping/bending, kneeling, twisting, climbing, and walking on uneven surfaces
- Frequent lifting/carrying: up to/ over 50 lbs
- Frequent use of hands and fingers for grasping and dexterity
- Constant visual, auditory, and verbal communication required
Work Environment:
- Occasional exposure to noise, dirt, dust, mechanical vibration, fumes, and outdoor conditions
- Occasional hazards due to mechanical equipment, moving objects, and roadside work
Equipment Operated:
- Seldom use of a computer and keyboard
- Operate DOT cars, vehicles and forklifts frequently
- Required to use protective gear (PPE)
