GPS Field Surveyor

Brent Scarbrough & Co. (BSC) is currently seeking an experienced GPS Field Surveyor to join our team. In this position, you will be responsible calibration, control integrity, layout and as-builts on construction sites to ensure adherence to plan documents and job integration.

Current Locations: HQ Office Location in Newnan, GA with project locations throughout the Southeastern U.S.

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Conduct drone flights for terrain mapping (topo)

· Use Trimble GPS Rovers and data collectors for field topo and Trimble Business Center (TBC) software to manage and process survey data.

· Analyze control or survey data to ensure adherence to project specifications or land survey standards.

· Check jobsites on a schedule to ensure accuracy and efficiency

· Communicate with foreman and others to identify needs in relation to worn out or defunct parts and accessories.

· Coordinate within the structure to replace any needed pieces.

· Conduct surveys to determine exact positions, measurement of points, elevations, lines, areas, volumes, contours, or other features of land surfaces.

· Ascertain the exact horizontal and vertical position of points on the Earth's surface.

· Maintain databases of survey and job information, including coordinate, descriptive, or quality assurance data.

· Verify the completeness and specific accuracy of newly collected survey data.

· Verify horizontal and vertical coordinates of control networks, using direct leveling or other geodetic survey techniques, such as triangulation, resection, and traversing, to establish features of the jobsites or things near and pertinent with proper techniques and standards.

· Assess the quality of control data to determine the need for additional survey data for engineering, construction, or other projects.

· Request additional survey data when field collection errors occur or engineering surveying specifications are not maintained.

· Provide field training and interpretation in the use of methods or procedures for observing and checking setups for accuracy. Set additional control if needed to facilitate.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent with skill certification
Experience: 3 years working as a land surveyor technician and/or Jr Crew Chief.
