SUMMARY: Senior Contracts Manager provides day-to-day oversight and management of the preparation, negotiation, and execution of contracts consistent with corporate policies and procedures. This is an in-office full-time role.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review, draft, and negotiate commercial construction contracts, including MSAs, work orders, subcontracts, and EPC agreements.
- Manage the contract lifecycle from drafting through execution and modification.
Identify legal and business risks and recommend alternative terms aligned with company policy.
- Lead contract negotiations in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate with outside counsel as needed.
- Manage and support insurance claims, including documentation, coordination with carriers and brokers, and claim resolution support.
- Support corporate transactions and strategic initiatives, including joint ventures and acquisitions.
- Assist with litigation management, including coordination with outside counsel and internal stakeholders.
- Support corporate governance activities and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Keeps current with state and national legal requirements to ensure that the contract terms are in compliance with legal requirements and policies.
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION:
Required:
- A Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school is required.
- 5+ years’ experience working with construction contracts.
- 3+ years’ experience working with renewable energy contracts.
- Experience negotiating large Construction and EPC contracts.
- Advance knowledge of California and Federal construction laws and contracts.
Preferred:
- Licensed Attorney, California license preferred.
- Familiarity with the construction claim process.
- Familiarity with California residential construction laws.
- Experience managing commercial insurance claims.
- Familiarity with labor compliance and prevailing wage issues.
