✦ The Role

As Senior Accountant, you’ll be a key partner to the Controller — overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, maintaining financial records, and ensuring the agency’s financial health is accurately reported and well-managed. From general ledger maintenance to payroll, reconciliations, and audit prep, you’ll have broad ownership across the full accounting function.

✦ Key Responsibilities

Prepare monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements
Maintain the general ledger and perform general cost accounting duties
Process payroll for non-executive staff and run monthly producer commission reports
Code invoices, set up new accounts, reconcile accounts, and manage month-end close
Reconcile bank accounts, cash disbursement accounts, customer accounts, and accounts receivable
Verify and process accounts payable, ensuring all payments are charged to appropriate accounts
Obtain monthly insurance company account statements, reconcile against AMS360 data, and ensure accurate and timely payments to carriers and wholesalers
Assist with annual audit preparation by gathering necessary account documentation for the Controller
Support proper account and policy setup in AMS360, assist with premium financing paperwork, and help manage aged receivables collections
Provide backup support for Staff Accountant duties as needed

✦ Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
2+ years of accounting experience with strong organizational and prioritization skills
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail — this is a must
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
