Overview
As a Civil Engineering Principal for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) in our Civil Practice at the Greenville, SC office, you’ll manage project teams to create land development plans for our commercial, institutional, and energy clients. From a hospital parking lot to an entire lifestyle shopping center, you’ll oversee project execution, including reviewing work products, quality control, client interaction, budgeting, and mentoring junior engineers. In managing junior staff, you’ll review design aspects such as site layouts, grading plans, stormwater management facilities, water quality best management practices, and utilities. You’ll collaborate with clients, contractors, and local government officials, influencing all phases of the project—from conceptual and design phases through regulatory review, bidding, construction, and project completion.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage land development and civil engineering projects from proposal through construction, including oversight of scope, schedule, and budget
- Review project designs, including site layouts, grading plans, stormwater management facilities, utilities, and water quality best management practices
- Perform quality assurance/quality control of project deliverables and ensure compliance with regulatory and client requirements
- Coordinate and communicate with clients, contractors, subconsultants, and regulatory agencies throughout all phases of the project
- Mentor and supervise junior engineers and technical staff, supporting professional growth and development
- Collaborate with senior leadership on business development and strategic client growth initiatives

Qualifications
• 10+ years’ experience working in the Land Development Sector; • BS in Civil Engineering; • Professional Engineering License (P.E.) in South Carolina; • Ability to speak and write professionally; • Ability to develop and mentor staff; • Ability to provide a technical review of Civil Engineering deliverable; • Ability to prepare proposals and manage project execution;
• Local connections with developers, architects, energy clients, or other land development arenas;
• Ability to interface with clients, network, and develop business.
