Harris Group is seeking an Associate Chemical or Process Engineer to join our team in Thousand Oaks, CA for short-term project in the Biotech industry. Working with the Life Sciences group, a successful candidate will be a self-starter with a strong work ethic and the desire to gain relevant work experience.
This is an hourly appointment based on project needs. The initial expectation for the project duration is one year with the possibility to extend.
Job Summary
The Associate Chemical or Process Engineer will be responsible for providing professional engineering expertise to our industrial projects that seek to positively impact both the community and the environment. This is an exciting opportunity to work on design, analysis, troubleshooting, and field support in Industrial Manufacturing, Life Sciences (Biopharmaceutical), and Laboratories.
The Responsibilities
- Serve as a technical resource on complex designs and advance engineering theories, concepts, principles, and processes.
- Perform mechanical design, working with other members of the mechanical staff, and coordinate with other disciplines on specific projects.
- Coordinate design with vendor supplied equipment
- Support equipment operation and maintenance.
The Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering with 2-5 years of relevant experience.
- Working knowledge of mechanical engineering techniques commonly used in industrial capital projects.
- Familiarity with process system design and equipment (i.e. pumps, fans, heat exchangers, cooling towers, boilers, chillers, conveyors and air handlers).
- Ability to identify, interpret and apply relevant codes and standards to engineering designs.
- Proficient with MSOffice suite.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability and willingness to travel to Thousand Oaks Daily will be required.
