Hiring Range:
The hiring range for this position is $20.00 to $25.00 per hour. This is the pay scale range Caltrol reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of this posting. Our base pay is determined by internal equity and may vary by geographic region, skills, qualifications, experience, and the requirements of the position.

What you'll be doing:
- Determine shipping methods for materials by following established shipping procedures.
- Prepare and process shipping documentation, including pick slips and shipping orders, to ensure accurate routing of materials.
- Pack, seal, and label packages, affixing proper shipping labels and recording shipment data related to damages and discrepancies.
- Package parts and crate valves using appropriate materials (wood blocks, foam, steel banding, etc.) to ensure safe transport.
- Manage inventory through daily and weekly cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Local pick-up and delivery, coordinating with customers on scheduling.
- Support shop operations by assisting technicians with sandblasting, painting, and valve teardown as needed.
- Assist with troubleshooting and basic repair on a variety of industrial valves.
- Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to move inventory and safely load and unload pallets.
What we’re looking for:
- Must have: Valid Driver's License and ability to maintain an excellent driving record required.
- High school graduate or GED equivalent.
- Previous shipping, receiving, and inventory experience (2-3 years preferred).
- Previous experience with shipping and logistics software.
- Basic mechanical experience/aptitude.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with customers and internal teams.
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed to support business demands.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work with a sense of urgency to meet or exceed customers’ expectations.
- Ability to drive and safely operate a forklift (willing to train).
- Motivated individual who takes initiative, is proactive, and eager to learn and grow.

This role is designed as a starting point into our operations and technical career path. As a Shipping & Receiving Clerk, you’ll build a strong foundation in inventory management, logistics, and warehouse operations while gaining exposure to our products and workflows. With demonstrated reliability, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn, you’ll have the opportunity to expand your responsibilities by supporting technicians with valve teardown, inspection, and basic repairs. Over time, you’ll develop hands-on technical skills, product knowledge, and troubleshooting capabilities. As you continue to grow, you may transition into a Valve Technician role, taking on more advanced repair work, diagnostics, and customer-facing responsibilities. High performers who show initiative and technical aptitude can progress further into specialized technician roles or other paths within operations. Work Environment/Expected Hours/Physical Demands:
This is an on-site, 7:30 am – 4:00 pm, Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week. Occasional overtime may be required to meet business needs. Physical demands include potential exposure to chemicals and working in close proximity to moving mechanical and mobile equipment. Must be able to wear the maximum level of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) without restriction, which may include, but is not limited to, a hard hat, safety glasses, fire-resistant clothing, safety-toed footwear, hearing protection, respiratory protection, etc. Must be able to walk and/or stand for up to 8 hours per day. Frequent climbing, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, and grasping. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must be able to work outside in varying temperatures and environmental conditions. Local pick-up and delivery to customer sites, driving company vehicles.
